Safe Decal Removal Query (anodising content)

"Petrol" type lighter fluid is also excellent for removing sticky residues and also useful in disposal of incriminating documents (too late for ENRON but may aid some of you guys!!!!)

Well, I'll be decal removing tonight, so shall kick off with Mrs GT's hairdryer and see how we go.

If I get peckish, then I'll make sure I have a peanut butter sarnie. Should the hairdryer not be doing the trick, I'll wipe it all over the frame ;)

Hi Pickle

Just wondered in the process of doing this you removed the plastic chainstay gaurd?.

Im need to remove and replace mine wondered if hair dryer trick works for these? before i go ahead. Got visions of molten plastic all over carpet :D

First hairspray for the grips and now a drier to get rid of scuffy decals? Sounds like there could be some economy of scale in combination hair salon/bike shop. Just think, you could sell fixies and give kids asymmetrical cuts covering their eyes, trim the UNIX beards of mountainbikers while they peruse expensive brightly colored bits of anodized aluminum, and of course roadies X leg wax is a no-brainer.

No, the LTS has a bare chainstay, so either its never had one or one of the previos owners has removed it.

I would guess a hairdryer or a form of thinner should do it.
