GuysI know I have asked this before, but bear with me as this is a slight variation this time!My LTS arrived today, and I want to start removing the GT and LTS decals as they are scuffed.  Now I know I have been given various advise in the past, so I am going to start with the old hairdryer tehnique.  However, if this doesnt work what is safe to use that wont damage the anodised red finish???  Cheers

what about finger nail, then clean up with sum white spirit, often used a fingernail to remove a sticker, can beat em, dont scratch and are reusable (once they grow back)

Well, that is an option I suppose!

I was thinking of trying Mrs GT's nail vernish remover (shh, dont tell her!) to get the sticky residue off.

Anyone know how the anodising willl react to this?

WD40 is good for removing the sticky residue, it softens it somehow. Had some experience removing old decals, used the hair dryer method, just be patient, let the heat soften the glue and it will peel off no problem. Lift and grip one corner with some fine tipped pliers and pull slowly.

sticky stuff removal.....

sounds weird but it works and its harmless to paint/anodising

get some peanut butter on a paper towel and rub on the residue.

then use a dab of fairy liquid on the towel and wipe off. then wash with soapy water and its all gone!!!!

it worked on my marin like a dream!!!

trial and error kev - nail polish remover works well but tastes disgusting!!

marmite - well everyone knows that tastes like cr.....

peanut butter was a good alternative - if you wipe it off with toast you not only get rid of the residue but have a tasty snack too!!

:p :p :p
