Saddle suggestions

As part of my refreshing program it looking at saddles now.
My old Avocet O2 has a bit of padding and I've found it fine but it's defo due a change.

So I orderd a phenom expert gel and now I've got it I think it's might be a little too extreme for me although I've read nothing but good things about comfort, which is why I chose it.
Before I fit it, or return it, can anyone suggest a suitable alternative?

Looking for something comfy, lightweight and about 60 quid.
I'm riding old school, so no suspension and do about 2 hrs one the weekend only - forest trail stuff mainly. Defo no racing.

The Phenom would prob be fine but I fancy trying something a bit more plush in case I'm missing something.

Cheers,

D.

Re:

Saddles are a very personal thing, one persons armchair is another's torture device. However, I think it's generally agreed that overly padded saddles aren't great for longer rides; the shape is perhaps more important.

Personally, I like leather saddles, they mould to your shape over time, but I found them pretty comfortable from the outset. Spa Cycles do some own brand saddles for far less than Brooks and other brands if you want to try one out: http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b0s204p0. I have a Brooks and a Spa Cycles Aire and the quality of the Spa saddle is equal to the Brooks. They're not a light weight option though.

Tons more guff here: https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#ne ... cle+saddle :D
