Does anyone know where I can get some leather to re-cover a saddle?
Anyone got any?Would prefer tan,not unlike horsey saddles.

I'd try an upholsterers for leather. Try Yell.com to find one near you.

You'll need some really thin leather to recover a saddle, sounds like a nice idea though.

I'd quite fancy a suede saddle and grips on the GT when she gets her make over.

Funny you should mention the Charge spoon. That's the default saddle for me (tan).Ticks all the boxes. An immediate classic at a retro price.
I'll get one if my repair seems too pricey.

I'm not sure this would apply in the UK, but in the US (especially in the Southwest) it's not uncommon to take your saddle to a handmade boot shop (like Tony Lama in El Paso). They typically have scraps of all types of interesting leathers and skins large enough to recover a saddle and the knowhow to do it so it lasts. Then you can be the only guy on your block riding on a shark skin Flite! ;)

same in france , any good boot maker will give your old Flite a new lease of life .

"neat & quick", shoe repairs in fetcham (near leatherhead) recovered a few bonty ti saddles for me. £20ea price I nearly shat myself  but after 6yrs of commuting & still going strong was good value for money. leather was much harder wearing than the usual calf skin used.
no idea if the shop (more like shed on the side of a house!) is still going??
