Just get it tig welded and a bit of fettling. Fabrications all over are the same, why frames have to be so precious?
My AMG alloy has been welded, it spins at thousands of RPM bounces down roads and has more stresses than a frame ever will.
Or give the pile of scrap to me

Surely if you get it welded neatly,then get your dremel out and grind it flush and polish it it will be ok,I am going to have a go at repairing a marin IFT with a similar problem soon,I will tell you how I get on :?
