(S) Selling 2 FSR frames (1994, 1995)

Can you re-check the top-tube length on the 1994 frame please? If it IS 55cm, then both size guides list that as an 18" not 16.5"...

Yes, that's true - if you measure it like them. But they don't say how they measure the top tube :)

I measured center-to-center and got these meters. The red one is smaller (shorter) than the green one. But as the green one from 1995 is a 18" (considering the 90mm head tube length which can only be 16,5 and 18" in 1995), the red one has to be a 16,5".

Has anybody an image how Specialized measured the tube lenghts?

Okay, I will re-measure my frames tonight, centre-to-centre along the tubes and post the sizes. I believe I have 1x 16.5" 1994 and 2x 18" 1995 frames. Head tubes as well...!

This would be great! Thanks a lot! And don't forget to measure head tube length also - and to tell what year your frames are :)

Measuring C-to-C along the actual top tube we have:

S-Works '95:
Head tube: 90mm
Top tube: 555mm

S-Works '94:
Head tube: 90mm
Top tube: 535mm

So I'm going to go with mine being 18" and 16.5" respectively, and the remaining green one being a 19".

Shame the red frame is sold, that's the one I wanted :(

Thanks for measuring!

strange results, I have to tell ya. Could it be my green frame is a 1994, despite the newer decals? Because in 1994 90mm head tube and 19" would be possible. In 1995 not.

I'm quite confused right now :)

Looks at the frame number. If it starts with '93' it was built in 1993 and so is 1994 model year. '94' = 1995. However, I'd not be surprised if the spec may have changed along the way somewhere as the frames may well have been built in relatively small batches to meet demand. Full suspension wasn't that big in 94-95, remember.

Hi Tom,

How long is actually the seat tube center to top in cm's ?

Regards,
Renzo

Renzo: The PM's don't work atm, dunno. So I post your requested pic here, too:

68cm from center BB to end of saddle. (65 on the pic because the meter is not in the center of BB) ;)

I think the green frame is a 1994 (so the frame number will begin "93") ?

My understanding was that the top tube measurement was always centre to centre.
