Anyone had any experience of using Ryanair for transporting Bike and / a Frame?

Do they charge a fortune and come with nonsense that you need to buy a bike box?

Cheers, W.

You'd be better off throwing your bike in the Irish Sea and praying it floats to where you're going than using that useless, sh1tty, bike smashing, massively over-charging nasty useless, bike-hostile turd of an airline.

I've taken bikes on Easyjet and Ryanair.

I usually pick up a box from a bike shop and package it well.

They charge extra, but then they charge extra for everything.

I've never had anything damaged and if you intend to ride out of the airport they will usually dispose of the box if you ask them first.

Easy Jet - great. It's never been a problem.

Ryanair - never again.
Remember to take some spare €1 coins for the aircraft toilets (paper is extra) and also a bit of leather to bite on when they come on the intercom every 5 minutes to sell you a scratch card.

I have changed my avatar in "honour" of this piece of excrement and his despicable company.

If anyone wanted to charge me to take a piss in an aircraft I'd make sure I'd get my money's worth and do it in the plane itself. Clean that up you tosspot. The "hostesses" are right fierce as well.

As for easyjet, most of my flights with them have been pretty painless although last time I flew out of Geneva they managed to lose my bag with £2000 of ski/snowboard gear in it  Never got it back.

Never had the "pleasure" of travelling Ryanair but by all accounts, spraying the interior of the plane with copious amounts of wee could well be an improvement.

Every time the company's owner does an interview on a business segment of some news programme or other he comes across as an odious money-grabber with little concern for the comfort or convenience of the passengers. OK, so quite often in the transport industry the powers that be are mainly in it to make a few bob and the travelling public get short-changed (Arriva CrossCountry trains, anyone?), but Ryanair seem to have taken it to new levels.

If Al Quaeda had used Ryanair planes on 9-11, there would at least have been a bright side to it.
