just bought an rts and the rear brake rocker assembly is missing. i have heard references to various bodges and i would like to see yours!

no pics of mine and bike is 1000 miles away , but i have used a canti brake arm instead of rocker .

basically put the canti in place of rocker by using threaded bolt and lots of spacers . attache the cable fron lever to top of canti brake and put the straddel cable through the canti arm .

just remove em and put some brakes that work (ie V-brakes) on there instead ;)

;)

This is how the original rocker should be that I have just fitted to mine.

A bodge should be easy with a spare canti arm, using a handfull of spacers.

If you want to pop around one night and have a proper look at mine let me know ;)

cheers guys!

pickle, can you pm me your number again please. i have lost it in the process of changing phones. would it be ok to pop over and possibly have a measure up. i'll see if i can get something made. thanks, dave

My version of cchris2lou's idea is below, but it was a bit pants. V-brakes are definitely the way forward for the rocker-less.

except i used the canti arm with bolt on to secure cable form the lever and just put the straddle cable through the holes in the canti arm .
