I've an old set of those too. I'd guess they will likely need a rebuild as they weren't terribly good new - apparently...

Hi yer there just really really bouncey to a point where I can’t use them I was thinking was there away of getting them stiffer if so what do I need to do to them as I’m assuming there not air forks

Re:

I had a set when they first came out and at the time were a good way to get long travel on the cheap.Very simple internals as its an elastomer fork.Check out the state of the elastomer stack, clean it up and stick in some new lube. They are rough and ready, dont expect Z1 performance but I used mine specifically for downhilling and big hits,I found it fine for that.

Re:

We had a set on one of our downhill bikes when they came out. I think there is an air damper in the bottom of one or both legs. Check the bottom of the fork legs for an allen bolt adjuster.

We stripped ours down and rebuilt them using grease etc... and they worked a lot better. But there was an issue with some of them snapping, I think it was the steerer. I'm fairly certain they were all recalled and fixed. Still worth taking it a bit cautiously.

Thank you for all the info I’m thinking off geting new forks now for the bike but now struggling to find any with the v brakes on them

Re:

Have you got a photo of the bike?
I’m guessing you’ll be wanting some more triple crown forks for downhill riding?
You won’t find anything newer than around 15-20 years old that still has the V-brake mounts on them I’m afraid.
Something like some Marzocchi Jnr T’s from around year 2000 might be an option, whatever you get you’ll be looking at some older used forks.

Re:

I got one, not great in off-road use :?

so I used it for...
