Retro Guru
Hi all , I have posted this up before but as ive just added some extra touches i thought show some pictures from when I acquired the bike and how it is today.
And also the suns been out so me and some mates have been out on a couple of retro country pub rides - Hope you enjoy
First up some old pictures before a my restoration-
1949 Rotrax La Premier - Brunswick Green
Then i decided its time to add some life and colour back into it -
A few minor rust spots and pitting which I had brazed filled before the paint job
Then off the painters -
And clean and polish of all the parts and then the build up -
And now built back up with the new colour scheme - Flamboyant Purple & Ivory inlay
Out on a few retro pub rides with some mates -
The Newport Arms , in Braishfield Hampshire , featured in the classic WORZEL GUMMIDGE series and in one corner of the pub a shrine to remember it -
,
The 48T chainring & 20/16/14 sprocket certainly gives a good work out on the hills around our way .
So just recently I decided to add some more extras, may not be every ones taste buy ive enjoyed it anyway and happy with the results.
Ive made up some full wrap wooden Mudguards out of thin strips of Mahogany & oak, using 3 layers and a wooden jig to shape them round and PVA glue for bonding, then shaped them using a belt sander, then by hand with finer grades.
Sorry I don't have many pics of this during the making-
22mm copper pipe rolled out flattened and polished then made into brackets -
Colorol handlebar double bottle cage -
Saddle Bag -
& a vintage brass pump -
