OK I got a rotor set of cranks :) VERY nice indeed

The BCD is 110/60mm
So dutifully i potter off to find some rings for it, baulking at 60 :?
Im aware the rotor stuff is the high end and im not going to get the rings in the kind of saving i got in the cranks so to capitalize on that saving , i though i could buy the proper 60mm inner and use a standard 110mm ring till the proper one came along(reduced/unwanted etc)

I think the crank and this 60mm bcd are 2016 so rings arent as available just yet.
But anyway, i find in EU the rings but they have 2 sets. One is for 26" wheels the other for 29" wheels

Please someone tell me thats a pile of buy buy buy nonsense. :shock:Are they trying to say if youve a 26, then you must use rings that are larger to make up for the extra rolling thingy wheel size of the 29"
I would have thought either :? If you have a 26 then a 42t would obviously be harder to turn than a 39t.
I was looking for something like 39/26t as i have on the x9 at the mo.

Any1 ? confused ? or is it just me thats dumb  It honestly makes zero sense to me.
PEDAL HARDER :?

I think rings are related to wheels size. I imagine the sizing for 29 is selected so that you dont need to pedal harder for the same speed than if you were on a 26.

Ahhhhhh indeed

Got ya ;)

When I got my first 29er I sourced chainrings to make up for the difference in wheel size. In 2008 that meant a 20t Pace granny and a 30t middle ring down from 22-32t.

Then as the build was nearly finished I tried it with 22-32 still fitted to the cranks. And I very quickly figured out that on the big wheels I just was 10% faster. Never fitted the smaller rings in the end. YMMV.

Enjoy!!
