Rocky mountain. Which should (can) I choose?

Do you think that a 1993 Stratos could be a good starting point? 280€ complete bike. I saw some very nice sstratis but with an orange fork.

You have to be careful with the paintwork on the Stratos, my '92 was painted silver, and aluminum pest has a tendency to get under the paint and lift it. If the frame is straight and in good shape that would make a good project.

Stratos is a nice bike, I have anone but my silver is now a quite nice gold colour.
That later version the paint is more robust.

It looks like DX groupset but have xtr cantis, mavic 231ish rim? Alu nipples but no idea what else.

Will of course take Mag21 and anything Syncros.

They are DX brakes. I've asked for better pictures before decide...

I have a silver syncros seatpost and a polished silver stem also syncros. Does they fit well? Or better always black?

If you are not in a rush you can go for a dream bike. The stratos is ok for daily but the steel attitude or a more modern Blizzar is quite nice.

Even a Element. I have built mine with all the time of the world and fit new parts and it is amazing, very fun bicycle in narrow paths. So not only 80s or 90s, I will look a bit in the 00s. Perhaps I went a bit extreme and nobody will spend such amount of money, but it was my dream bike and the frame was new, so time and some money to make the dream and ride it. It was better than I thought. It rides quite well. In the other hand my Marin looks quite good but ... only for some special days that you are in the right mood. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/rm-element-70-my-dream-bike-built.418743/
