Hi everybody,
1.) Sandvik was one of the biggest titanium tube/Hardware producing companies in the early 90's in the US and due to their expertise they welded for dfferent bike companies-
Mc Mahon, Diamond Back, some early Deans and others....
I found out by owning several different ti frames and they all had the exact same rear dropouts.....
it was then confirmed to me by a former Sandvik employee-
2.) Wheter your bike was welded by Sandvik is not 100% certain as with higher expertise themselves some bike companies switched to "in house" welding
3.) With the exception of the "Passoni" bikes from Italy I think that no other ti bike Company ever used 100% titanium tubes for their bikes-
- there were the classic 3-2.5 ti tubes = 94.5 % titanium 3% alu 2.5% Vanadium example used by Merlin for regular tubes while using 6-4 which was more stable for their
drop Outs
(6 - 4 = 90% ti / 6% alu / 4% Vanadium)
4.) Litespeed mostly used 6-4 alltogether first and foremost for their flagship bike models such as the OCOEE FS.....etc....
If you post a pic of the drop Outs of your Frame it should be fairly easy to determine which Company manufactured it!
Cheers,
