It all sounds so simple :D
One may even think its easy to have a nice selection of Syncros cranks at home 😜

Personally i would have looked for an Onza HOLA V-brake, those allow also to mount them mirrored, that means with brake cable coming from the right side on the rear brake, because this would fit better to the orginal cable routing.

It' isnt difficult to tune the rear brake correctly so that it works well. The brake must be set so the arms are greatly aligned to the drive-side, the pads compensated to the left and higher spring tension on the left as-well.

You should look out for a TWP brace for the rear seat stays..I may sell mine (in black) if you would sell me a revo crank for my 93 The edge :D

Gravity research pipe lines look great with syncros IMO, and of course grafton always looks good(and still available to buy new from John Grafton)
There is a set of black critical racing cantis on ebay for a good price. They are exceptional perfomance.

For now, use Avid supreme. Braking is now assured.
