If it's the early 90's one then modern day forks tend not to work unless you lower them a lot.
I've just fitted some Judy XC from 1995 with 6cm ish of travel and they look a touch too long

Suntour on Rocky Mountain is alteady rare on its own. I do like my ‘92 Altitude with XC Pro though.
