Rocky Mountain Experience, 'The Canadian Moose' **FINISHED**

Looks great Mark.

Moose 'antlers' are probably an acquired taste and would be lethal round the South Beds trails (Chicksands)

Nice choice of parts :) :)

More pics and now up for sale. New project really does force sale.

Might be  , might not be  , but I do know I need another project.

 What the??? … already???

:(

That sure was fast, having just completed building it. This poor frame has been tossed around like some cheap whore.

sinnett177 at least you gave it a little TLC it deserved, albeit brief! ;)

Wow, this thread takes me back. I had an experience around 94, bought used of one of my frat bros. Very stiff ride all things considered, but I loved it. My fork was pink. :)

The Experience is a hard to find classic. It was bombproof, and there was nothing (probably still isn't) that could touch it for climbing. On steep climbs on other bikes, it's always a fine balancing act between spinning the rear wheel or popping the front end up, but not with the Experience. I was always amazed at how I could hammer, out of the saddle, on steep climbs as if I was on a road bike, and rarely spin the rear or pop the front up... it stayed glued to the trail. As well, it's an incredibly quick and precise handler.

I fitted a Girvin Flex Stem on mine (anybody remember those) to absorb shock through the front end, because I wanted to maintain the quickness of the handling. Putting a shock on the front would have slackened the head angle too much for me, added weight, and given up too much of the razor sharp handling that I love about this bike. Other than the Flex Stem and the Shimano Shifters (changed from the OEM 1st generation Grip Shifters), it's all original.

I was going to post a pic of mine, but the system wouldn't let me since it was my first post. I'll add it later.
