Rockshox XC30 TK - Opinions please!

I am building a 2001 Orange P7, on a small budget!, and was considering purchasing a pair of Rockshox XC30 TK forks. They are 100mm travel, V-brake / Disc compatible and are cheap at £90 from CRC.

Anybody got any experience of them. Opinions welcome!

Would I be better waiting on a pair of used higher end forks coming up for sale?

Yep, you are after 1 1/8th straight forks, which the bike industry are trying to tell everyone are obsolete.

For not a lot more you should be able to get some rock shox reba second hand for £120 and they are about as good as they get.

Re:

From what I understand the "30" refers to the stantion diameter so they will no doubt be flexy. I got a tidy set of Fox F100's off here for not much more then that so that's where my money would go.

Re:

The XC 28TK and XC30 are like Rock Shox's bottom of the range forks these days. I know you said you were on a small budget, but you can get some bigger budget forks at a budget price for your budget (if you follow my meaning  ).

As the frame is a P7 I doubt you'll be needing massively thick stanchions, so maybe something like some Reba's, even Sids, or Tora's would suit, as would the Fox forks mentioned above, I had a set of Fox F100RLT that I bought from this forum for around £100 and they were excellent, maybe a year or two old but in good condition and far superior to even new lower range offerings.

i got a set of recon tk silvers they became rigids within a month there going off to be looked at/warranty repair dont both with there low end stuff.

i think its disgusting how they try an force thru axel an taper as the new normal
