Hi all, given the difficulty in sourcing Rockshox Judy (and FSX) compression springs from 1995-1997 to replace the elastomers. I’m paying to have a batch professionally made. I run 8 sets of Judy forks & only have 3 original Iddon Zeds springs between them. I’m looking to have 50 springs made which will cover 25 forks (in pairs). This seems to be the optimum batch to keep the price down (including tooling & painting). I’ll keep the first 20 springs to fit both my long & shorter travel Judy forks & then open to selling the rest. I ride all my retro bikes regularly so they have to work. :D

I’m spec’ing them as follows:

75kg-85kg rider (medium?)
180mm length (suitable for long travel Judy, but can fit shorter travel Judy. Although this means compressing the spring when fitting & dialing back the preload adjuster fully. This just ramps up the spring naturally making it slightly firmer & tighter to fit.)
Silicon chrome material (same as valve springs that withstand oil / hot temperatures - same material used by Iddon Zeds)
Compression coil, closed & ground (correct flush finish at the ends)
Powder coated finish (I have yet to choose a colour, either silver / blue or red is available)

Estimated cost to anyone interested in 2 springs would be £35 posted within the UK. Yes I can post within Europe, but postage cost will be higher depending on your location. Payment via Paypal only.
(sold in pairs - each single spring is working out about £13 exc. VAT before shipping)

Timing = I’m awaiting a test sample to insert & ride 2 weeks from now, check the finish. Then the manufacturing / painting of the entire batch will take another 4weeks before I can post to anyone interested in the remaining springs.

If you’d be interested in a pair then please put your name on this thread (and postage location)… As I say, this is a one off batch & tooling setup to make & paint them. I cannot offer any "product guarantee" with them, im just doing this to keep my own forks running as currently i have nothing. :xmas-cool:

Cheers
James

If you need springs for the Judy you can use a lot of differnt models from later Judys also.
On IBC Germany you can find a lot of original spring sets available in the Classic Bike Basar.
Best Regards Thomas

Hi Thomas, i did have a look a few times on Classic Bike Basar, but didnt find any springs seperate from Judy hydrocoil forks. Usually meant i had to buy the whole fork for 80-100EUR + 20EUR post. Then steal from the parts from the forks. To cover my 6-8 forks it was cheaper to custom make copy springs. I may have just been unlucky when searching though? got any links to springs seperate on sale as I would be interested :)

Warm regards
James
