Rocket Rons: have they got more fragile?

I've run Rocket Rons on my singlespeed for the last couple of years with little trouble. Eventually the sidewall on one failed and I bought new sets for it and another bike. Since then it's been a complete puncture-fest from cut tyres. I'm riding the same routes as ever.

I notice that the new tyres have changed a little in tread pattern and the new ones have (IIRC) 'made in Indonesia' on it - I cannot find anything on the old one.

Anybody else had a similar experience of the durability becoming hopeless?

I'll have to check, that's a good point. The originals were surplus OE ones with little Cube logos so I imagine were the most basic carcass.
I notice that the grey ones are pictured but not listed on the website. :?

The oe ones will either be the hardest, nastiest most plasticy tread on the cheapest carcase they make. Or the absolute top of the range.

Depending on which model they were fitted to. (Actually, think cube uniformly fitted the crap ones)
