The start on The Headrow in Leeds city centre.

I used to drive out early to Leeds to hang around a hotel to catch the riders coming out, walk/run up to the Headrow to see the start, run back to the car, drive home, get changed and ride out to Holmfirth and Holme Moss to see them through. A Grand Day Out!

The rider is Johan Museeuw, Belgium champion riding for the Lotto squad. PDM rider is definitely Erik Breukink

Thanks. I thought Breukink after I had posted but I was away from the computer to be able to change it. Never thought of Museeuw.

To long ago.............................

But I do remember meeting and talking with Alan Peiper on the Oude Kwaremont during Het Volk - probably in '93 - after he had retired. Nice bloke.
