Road Racing Pictures •

To continue the Canadian theme, these are two interesting cycling documentaries from the National Film Board of Canada. I'd be surprised if these haven't been posted somewhere on this site before, but anyway, they seem to belong here nicely, too?

The first is from 1965 covering the 'St-Laurent' race, "the longest amateur bicycle race in the world”, apparently. It's very well shot with some great footage.


Then there's also this from 1980 covering some of the 1976 Olympics track races and the 1978 Commonwealth Games road race, featuring the Manxman Steve Joughin (riding a Harry Hall bike).


Some marvellous sideburns and very short seatposts to be found in both.
