Road bike specific cable???

Looking for some shift/brake cables for a build and curious what's the difference between road and mountain cable? Is there really any difference stopping me from using a road kit??? :?

Jagwire has a complete shift/brake kit in white I fancy to make use of:

Anyone know of any other source for white shift/brake outer cables?

Yep, brake cables have a different shaped nipple.

so if i were to swap out the inner cables that come with the kit for the brakes, i'd be good to go?
