Ritchey P-22 Finished, and 1st ride!

Re:

Hi folks,

Nearly there now, got some more done on this build today.

Having let the painted stem harden up a bit, I fitted it along with the bars,

I did have to scrape some of the paint away to get it in  and will be heading south a bit further when I finish the set-up

Along with the saddle and seatpost,

Fading light belying the light gold colour of the bars and stem.

Also, offered up the top caps on the thumbies, having fitted those, the brake levers and W.C.S. foam grips.

They'll do!

A legacy of my one drink - ok, technically two  - on my hols this year !

So her it is now, with just a front mech to polish up, pedals to finish, then cable and chain up!

The lovely Ritchey saddle was sent FREE  from the fella that sold me the frame. God bless you guv'nor ;) Very much appreciated.

Can't wait to give it some stick!

Re: Ritchey P-22, nearly finished! 5th December

Looking good Mike. Bet you can't wait to get out on it :)

Re:

Finished in time for a Christmas ride! :xmas-cool:

Just waiting for some smarter thumbie top caps, then it's done.

I don't normally use alloy chainring bolts, but the originals were a bit rusty, so I thought I'd give these a go, SRP ones. Granny ones are original though, but you don't really see those

After a lot of fiddling about with the brakes, I got them working really nicely, although the pads squeal like hell!
So I shall toe those in. Gears work pretty well too, and the bike is nice and light!
In fact the lightest mtb I own.

At 21.54lbs

Hope you like it too folks :xmas-wink:

Thanks buddy! You're quick off the mark !

I did ride to the LBS to pick up some cable ends, and it felt both comfortable and light when I sprinted up the railway bridge! Extreme riding I know!
Stem may still go down a bit, but I'll make a decision after a bit of South Downs has been rolled along first
