Lyricist for the Grateful Dead: he wrote the lyrics for Bob Weir's songs, including the magnificent Cassidy, originally on Weir's Ace album, but played by the Dead regularly. He was also one of the pioneers of the internet, from the days of The Well in San Francisco. He died in his sleep. May he rest in peace.
