1/2 an hour dipped carefully in Oven Pride with light toothbrush application, with the spider and rings carefully masked off with duct tape and i ended up with this, a lovely matt black finish. Might even try playing with this finish or polish it up to matt silver.

Sadly, it wont last that finish and will scratch very easily - it's simply residue left from the stripping process. You'll end up needing to.polish eventually

Just hand polished the NDS arm. Might lacquer it next.
