hi,
i have a specialized stumpjumper '92 which has some minor issues wich i wan't to take care of in the next few weeks.
my biggest problem are the wheels. the rear rim got exchanged 2 years ago laced to the original M650 hub. when i took the bike to service this year i told the bikeshop to replace the front wheel with a new silver deore+xm317 wheel. (!!!)
today - as a retro aware/crazy person - i know that i did horribly wrong.
i want the wheelset back in shape so i got a deore dx M650 front hub for cheap. the bike was originally equiped with black Specialized BX23 rims but i haven't found a single one on ebay within the last 2 month (only http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-Deore-DX-Fr ... dZViewItem which is US only). thats why i'm thinking about lacing "current" rims on the old deore dx hubs.
what would you do in that case?
which rims would you recommend? (though about black mavic xm317...)
greetings

I got a lovely pair of nos retro sun rims from elite504.

just did that. the XM117 rim looks very similar to the old specialized rims and its very cheap too. i will go for these as i want the stumpjumper back on the road soon.
thanks!
