Hey everyone. I'm looking for a replacement fork for my P2s on my Lava Dome. I've got a threadless headset for it and it would be nice to not have to use a stem converter to run the bars I want.
Not really sure if I'm honest! Never replaced a fork before.Go on, give us a wee bit more info - steerer length, preferred A-C measurement, colour etc
In that case you might want to start by asking for some advice in the MTB Chat section - plenty of knowledgable and friendly enthusiasts who would be willing and able to help. Not really sure if I'm honest! Never replaced a fork before.
Thank you so much, will get back to this post with the measurements.Measure axle to crown race seat
This is called a2c or similar.
A2 95 lava dome is probably 395
Earlier, a little shorter, later, a little longer.
As a rule of thumb you can probably fit a fork that's 20mm loo long without ruining the handling
Then measure your required steerer length - this will be similar to what your current Threaded steerer is, plus the length required to fit an ahead stem.
(Im assuming the "stack height" of the Threaded and ahead headsets are the same)
Too long is no problem.
Too short definitely is.
So you might say:
"After an inch-and-an-eighth ahead 26canti rigid fork a2c 395mm, with 195mm steerer"
