Hi Guys

I just had the most amazing week riding in the Lake District. Grizedales Green trail (demanding apparently) 17kms was awesome with some absolutely amazing views and awesome technical bits.

Also Loughrigg Fell above Ambleside and all around Keswick.....wow!!

I say to all that havent been go at all costs and to any that live there, you lucky sods!!!!

Pics to follow!.............

I went to University up that way and cut my mountain biking teeth around the Lakes. We would go up every weekend in the early 90s.

I even worked at the bike hire place in Grizedale forest one year (1995 - the hot one!).

Very very good memories of the place. I try to get back once in a while.

Fond memories of getting lost in 95 whilst walking around the sculpture trail (Silurian Way?). Was really warm and the views were great. Must return soon. A North West area ride perhaps?

The trails at Whinlatter are getting a lot of love on other forums at the mo'... Anybody had a play there, cos I was thinking about a weekend over there sometime soon...

Aye, was up there on Thursday. Well worth a visit, great trails, well laid out and fantastic views.
They were opening a new beginners trail (blue) this weekend too I think.

Moved to Cumbria last year and loving it!!!

Mr Ship

I too was riding around the lakes in a very nice August in 1995. Unbelievable weather.

Are the odd bits of art still in Grizedale forest?

Was in the southern lakes a couple of weeks ago, some really good woodsy riding, going back up there in a few weeks to get married and then staying near Ullswater, planning on doing Whinlatter and Helvelyn and the new mrs doesn't mind the bike coming along!sweet!

Helvelyn - now there's a proper ride :D We did that in 18" of snow one year. Didn't quite make it to the top - too bloody cold! Great fun coming down though!
