Really?! Not joking?

Not joking

It kind of worked, till the secon tube got punctured by the same thing as the first

Struggling with this one

How does the valve of the 2nd tube get past the 1st one in order to exit the rim via the additional hole?

The additional hole, i would suspect, is on the opposite side of the rim as the original, and both valve stems are already protruding (in it's separate hole) before the ride begins, with the spare tube simply not yet inflated.

Yeah I get that bit but the 2nd tube would need to wrapped around the 1st in some kind of death grip as its valve can't pass through it.

Obvious, you just punch a hole in the first tube to thread the second valve through.

(oh... hang on)

Just seems wrong that a bike like that sells for £31  Not knocking you the buyer OP. The top end Ridgebacks from the late 80s and early 90s were amazing riding top notch, fillet brazed prestige goodness.

The frame is 15.5" it could be yours for a minimal sum....

The rims have both been drilled, one hole on each approximately 180 degrees from the valve hole - why would you do this? I'm struggling to assess the degree of wear - they're RM17s and were concave to start with!

This passed me by  I'm guessing it must have originated as a
Race strategy with CO2 cartridges.
