My 1984 ish 753 Rick Powell. I am the second owner. I had a 531pro built by him as a result of seeing this frame in a shop. About 10 years later I had the chance to buy it.
I originally set it up with early 80’s Super Record kit then pared it down to a fixed wheel machine for hill climbs. Presently decked out in 7800 Dura Ace it has hardly turned a wheel in this incarnation. Now I have some free time I am working on my fitness so I can push those gears on the hills round here without my knees going off like shotguns!
Frame is beautifully built but it’s best feature is it’s paintwork which is immaculately applied but thin enough so that the lugwork is perfectly crisp. Very much a feature of Rick’s work as many of his frames that I have seen testify.
