Ok, i got the idea that half of the Klein owners is after an 0-degree MC1 for an Attitude or an Adroit. That's why you don't see them offered that much, and if so they go for incredible prices :?

Here's my idea, i got a spare MC1 10-degrees rise, what if i cut it loose and weld it again but with no rise...

Do you think it would be possible, would it be strong enough, can it be welded as neat as Klein used to do it, does it need any treatment?

Just want to hear what you guys think about it, or maybe you've tried it already ;)

cheers!

No reason it couldn't be done......it is essentially three welded bits of alloy.....I would question the need to lose its originality and value to lose a 10 degree rise though, especially if the stem is materially sound in its current state?.... :D

Crazy idea

This is a crazy idea as the aluminium needs specific type of welds and subsequent heat treatment. Would you want to trust the most important part of the bike without appropriate processes. Klein would have spent a fortune perfecting this.

Just my thought.
