It's about the same as the first half of the Hereford ride. You'll be right ;-)

Hello there, I'm in for this. Road bike just rebuilt and it rides like a twitchy dream!
If there's any chance of scrounging a lift of anyone from either Macclesfield or Buxton railway station I'd really appreciate it. First train gets to both places at about ten to ten.

Rich, I can pick you up from Macclesfield station and we can drive up.
I was going to ride up to the Cat and Fiddle from my house. It takes me about 30-35 minutes on a good day, but it's a bit tight on time if the train gets in at ten to ten, plus it'd be nice to have plenty in reserve for the ride.

How steep does the terrain get?

There are a couple of short steep sections, but I've configured the ride so most of the climbs use gentler gradients. Thankfully I won't be using a 42:25 bottom gear this time.
There are a few steep descents though so make sure your brakes work.

It'd be nice to see something other than the electric yoghurt pot Dave...

i can already hear dave moaning that his colnago dose not have a compact chainset on it , count me in paul
