Don't worry. Saturdays ride is 22 miles in total length, with pubs stops at 10 miles and 19 miles. 98% is off road. There is a mixture of downhill, singletrack, sheep track, shooting track, forest road and firebreak, some shouldering and hiking, technical rocky bits, plenty of smooth flowing stuff and is suitable for all abilities and anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. There is a short cut 'home' around 8 miles in if anyone feels bushed. Pace will be leasurely with the group no doubt breaking into differently paced groups. There will be regular re-groups for the Downhill Challenge sections so no-one will be left behind.
Sunday will also be a leasurely bimble. Gil will be leading us around bits of old and new red, SSUK circuit, off piste and local knowledge stuff. Rigid will be fine. We had everything from a modern Orange Five to a 1933 Schwinn Excelsior on the route recce all were perfectly suited to the chosen route.
To sum up, wether a seasoned racer on the best kit or a fatty like me on an old Schwinn, you will get round and really enjoy it.
Sithee up on't moor wi good fettle!
