Thanks for a great ride chaps. Wheel to be dropped in for a new spoke on Monday morning. Thanks for getting me through the ride. That was some serious climbing today!!!
See you all soon & can't wait to see the pics.
Thanks to all the organisers for a great days riding in the Peaks!
Congratulations to all the prize winners and commiserations to Rich (Trebz) who was really looking forward to this ride only to fall off and injure his wrist before the ride even started.
Ben and I called in on him on the way home and he's fine but has a heavily strapped wrist.
I would also like to thank Marctwotone for his fantastic karma offerings, I now have a 95 Marin Pine Mountain to build over the winter
Here is my pictures from the day to get the ball rolling.
That will teach me to bring a modern bike, stupid ankle twist on the first muddy/rocky descent chute meant clipping out wasn't going to happen, and walking on it was not good either, so abandoned well before lunch.
Looks like the weather stayed as good as it was in the morning, will hopefully see people in a month or so for the next round, on retro, not the modern bobbins.
Actually wasn't too bad. Proper "retro" bikes don't have discs or suspension do they?
Third year for me and I was reminded why, above all the other RB rides, I try and make this one. Great trails and scenery and we were blessed with cracking weather again.
Cheers to Paul, Martin and Lee for getting us all round (pretty much) unscathed and to Spencer for the very fine ale.
