It's a highlight on the calendar for me too.......the weather can be horrific, I once spent a couple of hours in a pigsty alone up there during a winter blizzard, genuinely wondering if I'd get home! The biking is great though, on paths that meander into the distance allowing 20 minute middle ring stints whilst staring wistfully at killer views all around.........great stuff, can't wait!......

Re:

I'm in... :D

Up in Stoke for the weekend, so anyone need a lift from N. Staffs or en-route through the wilds of central Shropshire?

All the best,

Is it likely to be muddy/slippy? I'm not one for changing my tyres for every ride to gain extra Strava points but my charge Splashbacks are downright dangerous in slippy mud.

I did the recce on 1.9 Schwalbe Black Jacks with no real problems. This was about four weeks ago directly after the heavy rainy period. The Mynd tends to be pretty good in the wet. There are a few surface rocks but no rock-sections as such and few if any roots.

Rob.
