A couple of weeks ago I've removed an Italian threaded bb from a Newcastle made Joe Waugh frame. I expected it to be BSA. From now on I'll do some more research before I start wrenching. Ofcourse 95% will be BSA after all but better be safe than sorry.

I've no work bench : ( so clamping the BB tool in a vice isn't an option.
Using the LGF method my tuppence worth would be to keep the lever as close to the frame as possible so that the BB removal tool doesn't try to twist itself out of the splines in the BB. Obvious, but it makes a difference even with tool well clamped to BB with bolt.

To illustrate - the spanner in the first picture is shorter than the breaker bar in the second, but was more effective.

I do recommend bolting the tool to the frame so it doesnt twist out.

Absolutely. But even bolted up it seems easier with force applied close to the frame. Is the torque different or is it simply easier to keep it all steady? Not the faintest idea.
Waits for an engineer to explain or scoff unmercifully.....................

Never had an issue with it spinning out unless the cups have been aluminium - then its all fucked
