retro Zaskar on eBay - not an LE

Assuming the decals are correct it’s a 97 Zaskar.

97 LE would have CNC dropouts , seatstay bridge. Also would have butted headtube and integrated seat clamp

The LE decals that don’t match are from a 98.

The 6061 decal is also upside down which I’ve seen a few times too

Well, there's an argument waiting to happen

Technically, it is a "Light Edition" as it has the machined dropouts. Later ones also had a cnc seat clamp area too

My own earlier LE had no machining but did have titanium finishing kit

It doesn’t have the machined CNC dropouts- it has the standard ones hence if it’s a 97 frame (as the decals suggest ) it’s a standard Zaskar frame.

If it was a 96 or prior frame they are identical frame wise from a Zaskar to LE and only the spec (XTR) made them a LE.

97 onwards MY is when they changed to two different frames and mild changes happened to both in 98 and 99 to both frames.

But the frame has the CNC machining that makes it an LE, probably a 1996 model. Graphics get replaced - I'm on my 3rd set, the first having fallen off

here is a 1996 'LE'

Nope that’s not a 95 frame. 95 frames had a twin bolt hanger , and the thin down tube. 96 saw the fat down tube and single bolt hanger introduced. That frame is a 97 Non LE with decals added.

CNC dropouts only arrived in 97 as pictured above.

If you are referring to the inner dropouts where the small triangle section is cut away. This is what changed in from the 94 to 95 on ALL Zaskars.

Again ….. 91-96 Zaskar and Zaskar LE shared the same frame.
