In Natural Born Killers, the cyclist run off the road on Route 666 is riding the Beam Yeti.
 serious :?:
need to watch that film again then. it's so crazy... those orange glasses

Didn't they give that Muddy Fox Ti bike to the lad at the end of the show??

Agree with Jez...

Too many of these choices listed above are just plain vanilla...or wonky failed suspension projects not worth their weight in materials...

My list would be...

Off Road Toad Team Toad
Brodie Romax (Sovereigns and Expressos are cool too..hell ALL steel pre 100mm suspension Brodies! :D )
Rocky Mountain Wedge
WTB Phoenix
Brew 180 and 200 Proof
Nevil Devil
Arrow Aermet 24
Grove Team
Rhygin Juke and Metax SS
Cherry Cycles Cherry Bomb
EWR Original Woods and E-Motion

What can I say...handmade steel hardtails baby!...and all with geometries and technology that would wax the modern trash that shops are pushing today. One of these shows up and it's going into my shop...(and not for a rediculous 2000 bucks...ala the Toad on the fleabay right now. That greedy bastard :p )

Of course, my '94 EWR is on the list too, because so few were made and still exist, and I'm a big fat homer and my bike is the coolest!  Defiant's Boulder qualifies too I think...As suspension goes...I've always had a soft spot for the Boulder machines. Very pretty bikes.

How about a Sotello CRS (Cantilever Rigid Suspension) ?

Instead of listing all the wacky prototypes that didn't go anywhere let's decide what would make a "super-bike".

To me this would have to be very simple: a bike ridden by a MAJOR pro to victory. These bikes get bonus points if they are "one-off" machines or race-only prototypes.

The one on my list would be the Coella Viper. Reviewed by MBI when it was fitted with long travel Hanebrink's. A friend owned one of the coella full suspension bikes and that was very nice to ride and beautifully made. The viper looked very well engineered, british, rare and reasonably priced!

If we want to be retro super bike elitists then I would say Greg Herbold's Miyata (Elevation 10000?) would fit the bill. Not sure if this is the exact bike or not but its close:

Or the DH bike that Myles Rockwell broke 60mph on at Mammoth Kamikaze - couldnt find pic but there was an advert in Mountain Bike Fiction with the line "60 Myles per hour"
