I would use one of these: It would be a bit crude, but solid, and there would be no need to drill those rather fragile, weight relieved looking dropouts. Its just clamped by the quick release

Also aren't these for horizontal dropouts where you can put a bolt through and clamp on both sides of the dropout? Then you wouldn't be needing any additional holes as it'd just clamp inside the dropout itself, but obviously that isn't possible with vertical dropouts.

I have seen them on bikes with vertical dropouts. It is crude and not ideal. It is just that I wouldn't want to drill holes in that dropout.

I agree with not drilling holes but I still don't see how it'd stay put, I'm sure it would work and I don't necessarily think it'd budge when all clamped up, but not having a bolt securing it would surely mean that when the wheel is removed the whole thing will come loose. The type you shared is the 'Claw' type hanger and it's incredibly good (and basic) for horizontal but for vertical it just seems a bit more of a bodge than an actual useable system.

I've been spending my time googling to see if there's any rear mech hangers that bolt unto the eyelets and to my surprise there's not, silly really because that'd be neat.
 
If that steel hanger isn't bolted to the dropout the leverage of gear changing will twist that hanger around the quick release.if it was a nutted axle it might hold/stay put.A QR thread is tiny in comparison to a bolted axle....it clamps well across the drop outs but won't like a lump of derailleur and stomping Chavez peddling all his torque through it and gear shifting.
If there's enough meat where I suggested for an M3 tapped thread it'll be ok...and another on the back edge lower down....imagine a line drawn through centre of axle between the existing hole at the front of aluminium hanger.
If there isn't enough meat/steel then hanging it off the original mount could work but Chavez needs to be sure of what drivetrain he's using and wether that will place the derailleur pivot in its happy place.
