Can anyone tell me what this GT Frame is (should be a picture on this post!!), when did GT start with replaceable rear hangers and where can i get a rear hanger from?

Early 90's Aluminium Frame, u-brake or cantis?

Cheers. I have been after one for a while but now fear i wont be able to get a new hanger.

There should be a frame number in the dropout, if you post everything written on the dropouts, we can tell you the year, probably type en material, if everything is it.

It has the canti guide, so I reckon 94/95.

Ball burnished, so I would say an Avalanche.

That has a canti brake guide as pickle states, so you couldn't fit a u-brake as the bosses are positioned differently. ;)

The version with U brake had a clamp that suited just where the cableguide is now at the seatstay. So I think it should be cantilever break only.

It hasnt got the flat GT logo on the end of the toptube so no Zaskar. Might be a Avalanche I think.

My Zaskar was a 92 and had a non replacable mech hanger. You can find the replacable ones on the several Ebays most of the time.

Cheers,
Martin

I'm not sure which model it is, but it's not a Zaskar (as has been said) and it's post 1996 judging by the gusset under the down tube, Earlier frames had it under the top tube as far as I know.
