Retro Build - Brake Pads

Hi

if you’re swapping out the Marin lite brakes I’d love to buy them from you. My team titanium of similar vintage serviced yesterday and the bike shop guy was so vexed by the corrosion on the brakes he pretty well refused to service it again. I ride it every day and lockdown prevented a service last year.

Crikey John, that was from a long time ago.

I sold the Marin brakes ages ago. I do have some M900 brakes but they will be expensive.

I use Kool Stop Salmon brake shoes which are very good.

The Marin brakes are just beautiful so I’ll rummage the internet, but when you say expensive, what do you have in mind?

These are hands down the best canti pads I've ever tried (Kool Stop Eagle 2).
I have them on all my bikes with canti's now.
Just get the black ones...best all round compound.
I have these on a bike with roller cams, they stop better than the Avid 7 mechanical disc brakes I have on a non-retro MTB.
