This site is such a bad influence, i had 2 bikes 3 weeks ago now i've got 4 and another being picked up in a couple of days!!!!

I bought an '07 GT Aggressor a few weeks back, stumbled onto here via Google and now have 5 or 6 bikes in varying states of (dis)assembly, another 2 on the way, an ebay watchlist of nearly 200 items almost all of which are bike related and rent arrears for the first time . . . ever.

Yep, since deciding the Mountain Goat needed a refresh and then finding this place, I've now got everything for the Goat, and just happened to accidentally buy a never really ridden Klein Mantra Race Frame which also now is virtually ready to be made up....... I did get look when I pulled my old 88 Kona Cinder Cone frame out of the garage last weekend tho!

I stumbled on this site about a year ago. My mountain /commuter biking started 15 years ago, so i have used bikes for quite a while. More so over the last 4 years for recreation. Travel to work each day with a 16 mile round trip in ALL weathers.

Also i like the retro bikes..thin tubes..minimal look. The interest and help this site has given me in my quest. My signature will change..picked up a mint voodoo recently from london all the decal/stickers are mint.i think it was moth balled it is 12 years old and purchased a kona frame from cannondale king{top man} ..now i need bits.

Also in a way its the help that the members give question/queries to us "rookies"usually answered in 24 hours.

As i am new to this i will need to get some xt bits, there is many types. long cage short cage, bottom pull, dual pull , different model numbers can they be mixed:? :? it is a bit of a mine field

much better for your health ( well you need to ride a bit rather to constantly build new bikes )

much cheaper for the family wallet than any classic car you would indulge into

and you can put about 10 bikes in a car parking space so does not hurt the garage too

last advice : build her a new bike - for mine it diminished the moaning :idea:

It's both wonderful and dangerous! The bikes members have built, and the dedication to the projects is really inspirational (not to mention the excellent advice you all give), but the impact on my finances is, well not that bad, but it's preventing me from saving for a rainy day.

I keep acquiring things I don't really need for woefully undefined projects, I need to get some focus and spec out the bike I really want to build first. Next month, however, I intend to get a frame to hang all these extra parts I have surrounding my desk at work on.

Start thinking of a 21"+ frame you want to offload people!
