So after a long struggle to get this bike the way I wanted, I ended up powder coating her black and making something that is a bit of a modern beast but with oldschool roots and a retro feel... She rides like the wind
Been having the same thoughts for where to go with mine. I was getting quotes of £200 to £300 to re-nickel plate.
Was soooo close to the black powdercoat too (seeing your results it would have been a good call!), but have decided to get it powder coated in metallic (chrome/nickel 'ish').
I'll get it back next week so hope the place makes a good job of it (Maldon Shotblasting and powder coating - seem to know what they are doing with a bike, and a few frames in the reception) If they are good I'll give them a bump, if not - I'll set up a blog (after I stop weeping and cursing I didn't get it plated)
