Restoration or Art?

Given they are one-offs I guess these have a place to show how things can be done if you like that sort of thing. To some, they'll be exquisite wall hangers, to others, simply ostentatious & unnecessary. Wouldn't say they're awful, just a bit OTT perhaps? At least they are retro & look better than the majority of modern offerings :D

Re:

I think they look classy but you need to be pretty flush to ride them.

Re:

they're very nicely done, something about the colour of the gold that doesn't quite suit. perhaps that's my mind being trained into looking at silver components. Very flush, certainly wouldn't fancy riding on the roads around here on either of them! more suited to Italian roads perhaps?

I think they look great; I'd love to do one but I wouldn't know what to do with it once the project was done ... I don't think I could bring myself to ride it.

Not sure myself. I expect the owner has a diamanté encrusted helmet to match.

Don't know why, when faced with all that bling, I noticed it but the brake cable length is far too long. Obviously built by someone with an eye on style over function

I'd rather have the Raleigh Centenary........

Plenty of gold bikes in the past from Raleigh, Colnago, Pinarello etc ... it is all part of the history.

I think the attention to detail and quality of restoration of those bikes is impressive ...
