Respray Question

How do you guys handle resprays of frames with riveted on metal headstock logos/badges?

Do you mask and spray around or remove and re-rivet?
If the latter, how do you re-rivet?

I'm inclined towards removing the badge for a proper respray but other than pop riveting the badge back afterwards I'm at a loss.

Re:

Hi, I use a blob of araldite or similar on the back of the badge and tape it in place until cured, then fit 1/16" bifurcated rivets and spread the tails inside the head tube, easy and neat. Pop rivets look rubbish.

Tony

Oh I like those.... I’ve previously used straight rivets then had file off the extra inside the head tube... but these look like an easier fix.

Just bought some here;

Re:

Yes, I let the araldite attach the badge then put a little araldite in the rivet holes before inserting them, then spread the tails inside the head tube but you won't have to worry about the rivets being particularly tight as long as they clear the fork tube, the araldite will stop them rattling.
