Rescuing a Pace RC200 F4 Frame

Have you made a jig to hold the tubes in place while you do the work?

When I was trying to get the headtube replaced on my RC200 I was told by Pace & Spondon Engineering that they couldn't help because they didn't have a jig to carry out the work.

No jig needed for cutting the parts out so far. In fact, the square tubes are easier than round to hold down firmly...
My only frame jig is so old that it's 1" headset road bike only, so for this I'll use my Demmeler fixturing table at work.

Come on in...excuse the mess ;)

It has fittings which clamp onto the table such as vee blocks, set squares etc. All of which can be plugged into the fixed grid or fully adjustable sliding x-y-z. This allows me to hold the frame (or anything, really) in position.
I can then reference angles and distances to the grid etched on the surface, and heights from the surface. Then use the fixture itself and the surface as alignment gauges after finishing.

All the best,

Nice, great bit of kit that table.

D'you know what the plans are after all the welding is done? Is it gonna be re-anodised?
