Rescued.. Alpinestars Al-Mega DX

Oh I've been well and truly on the hook for years.. new bikes, old bikes (must be MTB). Unfortunately my wife has not always been very understanding. I try to tell her that bikes (like any decent hobby) are an addiction; but no it just falls on deaf ears.

But now I've found RB I am amongst other suffers of the addiction. No longer do I feel alone when I get overly excited when seeing an old Marin with bright yellow or pink forks or a mint Panaracer Smoke tyre on eBay :D

I can proudly stand tall with a group of well-wishers’ and say.... "My name is Craig and I am a bike-aholic!"

No worries about bidding me up on eBay mate over that AS.. I'll pm you my Paypal details..... 25 quid should cover it ;)

HI folks.... quick updizzle...

I was on a nightshift last night so rather than go to kip when I got in this morning I thought I'd get cracking on with the new/old AS.

As you can guess from the state of our bathroom the lady was at work; she's due home any minute and the house still stinks of gunk and T-Cut!!

Anyhow some work in progress pics for ya'll.. I was hoping to take more but you know how it is; Park tool in one hand and a filthy rag in the other leaves no hand for camera.

Hope to have it finished soon so will post the end result.

I found these rather spiffing IRC amberwalls from that therre t'interweb. Shop called Bike+, two tyres for a tenner.

Yeah, that looks good indeed.

Amber wall IRC's were made for e-stay A-stars IMO, I've got a set on my 92 XT and it just looks coooooool with them on....

Mate.. just checked out your 92 XT; that is an absolute beauty!! It just looks so slick  . You're right the IRC's really set things off.. I'm not sure of the shop's stock levels but two tyres for just ten quid..... me thinks it would be wise to stock-pile.

that bathtub shot is almost pornographic m8

it's my screen saver for now

I wonder how many off us use the bath tub for cleaning our prized machines? Might have to start a bath-tub thread... just hope things don't get too kinky

Good usable rubber as well. I used mine at the weekend and only fell off once (the tyres played no part in the tumble). Gonna have to get another pair 'cos mine are dirty now

lets see your bote's mr chiswickcollectables

please

i'll show you mine ;)

Hey buddy.. unfortunately due to space constraints my stock isn't all in one place.. all I can show you for now is the Peps from my '91 SM800. Some of the aluminium on both frame and fork is corroding which is causing the plaint to flake; the plan is to right this and get it looking tiptop. Look out for my upcoming threads on my Dales’.

Here’s a quick pic of the AS (now finished)........ I’m hoping to get out on it this weekend so I’ll be following up with some more ‘special’ pictures.
