Reproduction Uniklein/Strata Forks

I am researching the feasibility of reproducing some forks, starting with uniklein on the basis that I have a pair to work off as a reference point.

Does anyone have any drawings they are able to share? There are some basic sketches of a box fork in the 1991 brochure, ideally after similar with dimensions and wall thickness would be fantastic.

Has anyone attempted this before?

Hi Alex ...this has been discussed several times before. I talked about that for example with Dan Chambers. Long time master aluminium bike builder and with plenty of other people out of the field, too. I am a member of all the KLEIN groups for years and years. I own more than 10 high class models myself and I also build forks myself.

Result: Forget it! Your problem will be the tapered legs and getting the proper bendings right.

According to Dan Chambers (and others) the investment you would need to put into it to recreate the legs properly would be in the "hundred-thousands of dollars" almost.

Good luck finding any other people or companies that could do it for you.

So far, every man that is an expert on frame building and highly familiar with the KLEIN forks has waved awed immediately.

I am curious how far you will get ...
