Renovating wheels...New spokes? Or just tighten?

Hi all
26" alloy aero-rim with Shimano FH RM40 hub. I have the dilemma whether to replace two spokes and tighten the remaining slack spokes or purchase 36 new spokes and replace each one individually and hope I get the tension right and preserve the correct dish intact.

Any suggestions welcome.

If it were me , I'd replace the two bad ones and adjust what's there .
Had to replace half the drive side ones on a wheel myself recently .
Good luck

What he said, unless the spokes are damaged there's little point replacing them

if you do replace them all, just start a build from scratch

Which is beyond my expertise. The idea of replacing each spoke individually is that I don't have to worry about pattern and dish.

Nipples are all now having a soak in oil before I check for frozen ones.

Thanks Mike and cce

Also , if you build from scratch , there is sometimes the worry that the rim won't start out flat again .
Bear in mind the rim isn't new , it will have been trued as it was used , so the tension in the spokes will pull it true . When you take the tension out by re-building , the rim could well deform when you take all the spokes out .
Hope you get it sorted out ;)
