removing this bottom bracket - what tool?

I was recently very kindly given this old muddyfox roadrunner for the charity. It's no show winner but she's a good old workhorse so ideal for the sort of people I donate bikes to. (Although I might have a bit of use out of her first as I love it)

Anyway I have this old bottom bracket which needs the bearings replacing and I don't have the tool.


It's quite tight so will need the proper tool but have no idea what to search for as although I've seen these plenty of times, I've never had to actually take them apart. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

But you are paying £35 for a one trick tool, worth it for a very stuck BB in an expensive frame maybe.... but the ParkTool can deal with many more variations of diameter.

In all honesty I'll probably only use it once so I don't want to pay stupid amounts. Hopefully will be able to start my new venture to help fund the project so I can get some half decent tools anyway as planning to do this for a while yet.

I have found that a pair of pins - I use the chuck ends of appropriate sized drills mounted sharp side down in the vice worked last time I had to remove one of these.

May be I was lucky?
